Planning your giving

We are used to the idea of budgeting for variety of needs in our ordinary everyday lives.  Church going people recognise the need to finance the maintenance and upkeep of their churches.  To do this, we operate a Planned Giving and Gift Aid Scheme.

Joining the Planned Giving Scheme couldn’t be easier.  We ask each individual contributor to set aside from their weekly income whatever it is that they realistically decide is going to be their set contribution to the work of the Church. A contributor will be given a set of weekly envelopes which they are asked to bring to the weekly celebration of the Mass.  Alternatively many people find it simpler to set up a standing order directly from their bank.

If you are a UK tax payer, we can, at no extra cost to yourself, reclaim 25p for every £1 you place in your weekly envelopes… which really can make a difference! The Government’s Gift Aid scheme allows us to reclaim tax on all of your donations to the church.

For your donation(s) to be eligible for Gift-Aid you must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax for each tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the tax that the parish reclaims on your donations in that tax year. If you contribute £5 per week, multiply that (or whatever amount you give) by 52 = £260. Multiply £260 x 25% = £65 given to the parish by the tax man!!

To Gift-Aid a donation you need to fill out a GIFT AID Form:
